Rimmel Colourist Mascara Review

The Rimmel Colourist Mascara sounded promising as 75% of women said they could see that their bare lashes were darker just after two weeks. So I thought I would give it a go, my eyelashes could use any help it gets really.

After using the mascara for a little over 6 weeks, its safe to say its one of my favourites to say the least, if anything it does definitely provide length and volume that I want but with that being said, I cant see any difference to my eyelashes as far as colour without mascara. It hasn't dyed my lashes nor tinted them etc.

However the concept was great the formula just wasn't there to do it. I do hope they develop on it and that it does work out because I personally love the idea of it!

Mid Year Beauty Confessions

I have been into beauty a good few years now, as far as blogging goes, this will mark my 6 month period since I began. Since I've started blogging alongside reading other bloggers, I've found out a lot about my self and I bring you my 5 beauty confessions.

1 - I don't do things by halves, for example if I see something new on the market, I won't just by one or two, I will buy all of them and if I can't afford them I'll save up until I can.

2 - I don't brush my hair as often as I should. I know this my seem pretty grim but when you have long wavy hair, using a hair brush could result in a huge frizzy nightmare.

3 - Nor do I use body lotion. In January I swore I'd start wearing more, give my skin a bit of moisture but it's honestly something I can just never be bothered with.

4 - I hate washing my make up brushes, I want as long as I can before washing them. Gross right?

5 - Buying a new product isn't as simple as you'd think. I have a list bigger than life itself of products that I plan on buying before I let myself buy something new. If I like something new it has to go to the bottom of my list.

6 - This is probably the worst one but I hardly ever remove my make up before bed, because honestly, sometimes I'm just too lazy!

Until next time,

Holy Grail - Face Mask

Its vary rare I use the words 'holy grail' as to me this means the best and that nothing can compete. That being said, I have found my holy grail face mask!

Yep, you guessed it, the little beauty that costs as little as £5 from Avon is my holy grail face mask. I honestly can't get enough of it, you can even buy the cleanser to match which I also love.

The face mask itself is a pore penetrating one and is a black mineral mask. This always helps me out whenever I'm having a bad skin day or even just for a pamper. It dries really tight and you can practically feel it working on your skin. Once removed it leaves the skin so soft and smooth and isn't drying in the slightest.

I've tried various face masks yet this is the one I always come back to, you really can't beat it, especially for such a bargain!

I'm always on the look out for new face masks, give me your recommendations down below, on twitter or Instagram.

Morphe 12S Soul Of Summer Palette Review

This palette is stunning! I seen this on BeautyBay and had to get it. Since it came, I have became completely obsessed with it. All I want to do is create different eye looks with it and wear it anywhere. Its gorgeous is what I'm saying.

In the palette you get 12 shimmer shades so it is a smaller palette than usual but for only £11.95 its an absolute steal! The palette is such a diverse palette for if you want to do a neutral eye, cool toned eye or a warm tone eye, you get a great variety of shades from warmer tones to cooler tones, browns and orange types of colour.
The top row you have the light gold and champagne type of shades, the second row is darker browns and bronze shades with a gorgeous silver and the very bottom row is warm orange tones.

The formula is so buttery and creamy yet its so pigmented with some fall out. I will 100% be buying more Morphe Brushes palettes in the future!

Whats your favourite palette? Let me know!

Mineral Magic Foundation Powder Review

I seen this advertise and heard about how amazing this is and how every one needs it in their lives and how every single cleb in man kind is wearing this. Alongside this I heard a good enough review from older relatives, so I thought I would get on the hype.

Firstly, let me just say that the brush is terrible, use your own brush if you can!

Secondly, I honestly don't like the powder. I'm unsure if I use this as a base for my foundation or on top of it but either way the product is awful. As far as colour correcting goes I don't see much difference, it does slightly take away my dark circles but nothing spectacular.

However, I did use this as a base under my foundation and I did get complimented during the day and people saying I looked different. I seen my boyfriend and the first thing he said was how nice my make up looked

The shade range for the collection isnt that good, its more of a one tone powder, its a little too dark even for me however there was no lighter ones or even darker shades.

It can be a little drying to the skin after using over and over again and it requires a fair bit of working with to get the look.

Would I buy it again? Probably not no, its a good powder but its also something I could probably live without.

Until next time,

ASDA Gym Wear?!

Okay, so I know what you're probably thinking about ASDA gym wear - you either didn't know that they sold it or, you thought it would be bad for the prices that they sell them for.

I was on the look out for some new gym wear, I'm not a fussy all brand gal, just something that gets me through my workouts. I then seen ASDA selling gym wear and thought I would give it a bash, no harm done.

ASDA gym wear ranges from £8 to £10 however when I went all things were half price. Bargain!

That being said, I got 3 cropped leggings and 4 tops to go with them - they even do amazing offers where you get 2 tops for £5, you really cant fall off!

Bottom line is, I love the gym wear, they're not see through, they look nice however I would recommend getting a size smaller, I originally got an M and they just kept falling down, I then downsized to a S and they pit perfectly.

So if you're in the market for new gym clothes that you don't need to splash out for, check out your closest ASDA!

Until next time,

Whats in My Make Up Bags

Ah, make up, wherever I go, I need to take my make up bags because you never know, right? So today I'll be showing you the make up I take to my boyfriends house. For me these are the bare essentials that I need on a day to day basis. with a few options as we may go somewhere and I need to look a little bit nicer type of thing.
The bigger make up bag was from Primark as I find they have the best make up bags for on a budget and they hold a lot of products.
The smaller bag is from Boots and is a perfect size to be able to put bushes inside.

Now, these are the basics I need. Even for the days I don't wear make up, I find having these makes me feel really refreshed and ready to start the day.
I have the Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel cleanser and toner alongside cotton rounds to go with it - this really makes me feel fresh and clean for the day. After that I'll go onto using the Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Spot Wand.
For my under eyes I use the No.7 Beautiful Skin Overnight Revitalising Eye Balm. For moisturiser I take my Nivea Soft as its small and perfect for travelling around and it does the job.
I also take Victoria Secret Pure Seduction with me instead of a perfume as for me it does the job, especially if we aren't doing too much.

Rimmel Lashing Finish primer is my go to primer at the minute, this comes with me no matter where. For my base I like to take two different foundations, the Dream Satin Liquid by Maybelline and Nars Sheer Glow foundation - like I said sometimes I need options for if we deicide to do something nice. MAC pro longwear concealer in shade NC15 will always come with me as I find its one of the best, it hides spots and under eye circles with a slight highlight to it.
To set everything I use the New Maybelline Matte Maker powder, this is still new to me so its still being test out, so far so good!

When im doing my eyebrows I like to keep it pretty basic, I take the Collection Eyebrow Kit in Brunette an for the lazier days I just use the Loreal Brow Gel.

For blush I keep it simple, a rosy pink with shimmer is my go to blush shade, I have the MAC Petal Power and Nars Orgasm, as you can see, they're pretty similar to each other.
For lipsticks I usually have a collection in my bag as I tend to throw them in after I get ready. The three lipsticks I had in this week were Mac Russian Red, Mac Zac Posen Dangerously Red and Mac Rebel.
For beauty tools, I like to keep this fairly basic, I have the Real Techniques - powder brush, concealer brush, buffing brush and blush brush as well as the beauty sponge. As well as that I also have a lipstick brush and eyelash curlers.

That's everything I take on the go with me - I realised it does seem a little much for an over night stay or a couple nights however I do use all the products.

8 Lipsticks for Spring & Summer

Spring is finally here! I can't stress about how excited I have been for Spring and Summer to arrive and it finally has so it calls for a post about my top 8 Lipsticks for the Spring and Summer time.

Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish - 36 - £5.49
This is the cheapest lipsticks from the ones I currently have that being said you pay a small price but the pay off is amazing. The texture is creamy but not too much where it feels like Its sliding all over your lips. Its moisturising and can last around 5 hours with out re applying. Its a bold colour but not too out there.

Revlon Super Lustrous - Wild Orchid 457 - £7.99
This is a gorgeous purple pink shade and has a slight shimmer to it, although not too much to notice it definitely is a staple for me, I've wore this shade since I was around 15! The colour does stain the lips so you can wear it sheer, the more layers you apply the darker the shade gets. I think this could suit medium to darker skin tones better, but it could still work with pale skin!

Revlon Super Lustrous - Soft Silver Rose 36 - £7.99
This is a lipstick that requires minimal effort, you can dress it up or dress it down! You could apply this without a mirror if you were in a rush. However, I wear this with a pinky nude lipliner to give my lips look big and sometimes add a touch of lip stain. Its an easy to wear colour and could pull off with most eye looks. Its very moisturising and stays on the lips forever even through eating and drinking. This one has a frostier finish however this sometimes can work in favour of making the lips look bigger!

Mac Amplified - Full Fuchsia - £15.50
This is true to its name - a full fuchsia hot pink and all you need is one swipe and you're good to go. The lipstick can brighten up the face without it being too over powering. It has a creamy texture and wears really easy through out the day however it does require touch ups but it does fade very evenly and leave a slight stain on the lips.

Mac Amplified - Vegas Volt £15.50
I believe this was my first or second lipstick from Mac! This is such a different shade for me, but Vegas Volt is hard to say not to! A gorgeous colour which is the perfect mix of pink and orange. It really brings out blue/green eyes too! This suits all kinds of skin tones meaning it will be perfect for those with or without a tan for summer. I've seen on Instagram people pairing it with red lip liner and giving it an ombre effect which looks gorgeous too!

Mac Amplified - Impassioned £15.50
I got this originally because I wanted the Viva Glam Miley however it was completely sold out and the sales assistant recommended this one for me as she said it was similar. I love this lipstick, its such a fun colour to wear being bold and neon makes it a perfect day and night colour.  Its more of a satin finish so its very moisturising however it does fade unevenly and needs re applying after eating or drinking.

Mac Matte - Lady Danger £15.50
I wear this all year round without fail, this is possibly my favourite Mac lipstick that I own and that could be a bold statement to make. Its the perfect mix of red and orange in my opinion. This can make blue and green eyes really stand out and can make teeth look amazing! Its a very daring colour to wear but the touch of red makes it more wearable. This would yet again look great on any skin zone.

Revlon Lip Stain - Barcelona Nights - £7.99
Not really a lipstick but I'll throw it in as an extra. This lip stain is amazing, you can pair it with pink lipsticks or lip liners or even nude lip liners and it looks amazing. Its so easy to apply and once the gloss has faded it leaves a stain which lasts all day. Very moisturising and easy to wear.

Top 5 Red Lipsticks

Im the type of girl who loved a bold red lipstick no matter what time of day, so, I thought I'd share with you all my top 5 red lipsticks with a budget to suit everyone.

Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipstick - Diva Red

This lipstick is the cheapest costing £6.49 and it does need touching up throughout the day but its a moisturising lipstick however it does work best with the lip liner to match which I believe is Red Diva. It looks gorgeous on, its not completely matte, more of a satin finish.

L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Exclusive Reds - Eva
This one costs £6.99, its not a true red, very orange based red. It gives a very vintage vibe when wearing it. It sits well all day and it doesn't need touching up as much throughout the day. This is one of my drugstore favourite lipsticks, defiantly one that everyone needs in their make up collection!

Mac - Russian Red
This costs £15.50 and is a deep and bright red colour. This is a MAC cult favourite and one that is usually in my bag. This is by all means one of my favourite reds and wear more often than not, the finish is matte meaning it stays on with minimal re applications.

Mac - Viva Glam I
This also costs £15.50 and is a dark red with brown undertones. I think it looks beautiful on and it lasts all day without touching up. The downside is that it is very drying to wear and can be a little difficult to apply. I have two tubes of this already and I love it, however I would wear it for a night time look.

Charlotte Tilbury - Red Carpet Red
This is the newest in my collection and the most expensive, this cost (my sister) £23 and I don't think I have stopped wearing it since. This is the perfect medium red for my skin tone with cool blue under tones. I love the shape of it when you first buy it, it makes application loads easier due to the shape. I also find it really moisturising on the lips and you don't have to re apply throughout the day. It also leaves a stain behind.

5 Things To Do This Weekend #2

1 - Have an early night. Its said anything less than 8 hours sleep can really affect your skin so this is the perfect time for you to be able to refresh your skin.

2 - Take a trip to lush. This is my personal fave. Nothing better than having a good browse in Lush and looking at new products.

3 - Go for a mate date. The week can be hectic meaning working and college or uni or assignments which means it will get harder to see your friends. Take some time out of your week to do a mate date for food or cinema etc.

4 -  Try something new. Anything such as curling your hair to a new hobby.

5 - Family time. I can't stress this one enough, I always get caught up with my assignments and what not and completely forget to spend time with the family. Take this weekend out and go see them even for a few hours.

4 Steps To Find The Perfect Foundation

Foundation is one of the things that really make or break a persons make up, in my opinion. Yes I know we have all been there with foundations that are too dark or not right for your skin type, I sometimes still do! However, here are some steps I have to help you out in picking a perfect foundation.

1 – High-end or Drugstore – I think it’s important to pick depending on your price range. I find that both have good options. The high-end counters do offer more guidance when it comes to foundation and they will help you find exactly what you’re looking for as well as the shade however if it isn’t within budget then don’t worry! There are so many great ones from the drugstore such as Rimmel 25 hour foundation.

2 – What Do you want? – Working out what you want from your foundation is a key thing to finding what you’re looking for. For example I tend to opt for a matte finish with a high coverage. From day to night I change the shade; during the day I want something to match me for the natural look where as night time I want something with a little colour. Always remember about your skin type when buying foundations.

3 -  Colour Match – Colour matching can be the biggest ballache when it comes to foundations, so many shades and undertones to chose from all in all it can be a little bit difficult.
Buying foundations from the drugstore can be harder as you don’t get help on colour matching, I find applying them on the back of the hand works best for me. I usually take my sister or a friend for a second opinion.
High-end foundations, there will be someone matching you and they will give you 2-3 shades that match and you can then decide which one you thinks best, again I always take someone for another opinion on the shade.

4 -  Online – The internet is a beautiful thing and you should use it to research about products that are on your wish list. Unless its an impulse purchase I always read a review on things to see what others think of them. Online you can also find websites where they match you with foundation tones, all you need to do is add the foundations you previously use and their shade numbers and it will give you a match to various foundations.

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation Review

Nars Sheer Glow foundation, this costs £31 for 30ml. The shade I have is Gobi or Light 3 in the Sheer Glow finish.

The packaging for this is very sleek and professional looking however all Nars products look easily messy due to their matte packaging. The only problem with the packaging for me is that the foundation doesn't come with a pump and I feel as though I waste more product than I actually use when pouring it,

The foundation itself has a runny texture with a medium coverage however that is buildable, I always use a minimum of two layers. When I first tried it, I used a Real Techniques buffing brush but I found this left it looking streaky looking so the next time I used a Beauty Blender and I find this works better and gives a better coverage. It remains tacky for some time after, even after setting it with powder.

It has its flaws such as it does cling to dry patches and if you have small hairs on your face it will also cling to them and it can leave you oily in certain areas but overall I do like the foundation. It wears well and lasts a good amount of time without touching up.

Chanel Vitalumiere Compact Douceur Review

First of all, fuck me this was expensive - shout out to my sister for buying this for me. However, the price was somewhat expected considering its Chanel.

The packaging, jesus fucking christ its beautiful! Black and gold box, sleek looking, its beautiful. The packaging: a practical refillable portable black compact which comes in a velvet pouch, with a sponge and big mirror. Its elegant but simple which would suit a lot off different people with any age, or sense of style.

I have mine in the shade 10 Beige. This has got to be the most soft and creamy powder that I have used. The powder goes on quite transparent and it somewhat melts in the skin, instead of sitting on top of it, yet still controls shine and oil.
For a girl with rather oily skin, having a hydrating powder was a scary concept, this is fine as long as you keep on top of it throughout the day as I have found if I don't I can look more oily than what I started out, however this does depend on the foundation of choice. If an illuminating foundation then definitely keep on top of things!

I've found that you cant really feel this on the skin and do like using this, not for day to day but for every so often its amazing!

You get a sponge and you can use this wet or dry, when used wet it gives a heavier coverage however still doesn't look caked on.

Empties #1

So, if you're new to the whole empties type of blog post then ill give a brief explanation; basically you collect up empty products and give a short and simple review on the product and if you would buy it again or not.

As you can see I have went through mostly bath products - bubble bath especially!

1. Avon Mandarin & White Jasmine bubble bath - to me this smells really clean and fresh, its just a standard bubble bath, best used in the morning as its refreshing.
2. Avon Lavender bubble bath - again, just another bubble bath and would use on a night to help me sleep, sometimes I would use with Twilight from Lush as its a perfect combination.

Id buy both of these again, I'm really not that fussy with bubble bath.

3. Far Away by Britney Spears - I love this perfume, my sister got me it for Christmas a few years ago and I have only just got through the bottle. I have actually already bought this bottle again. Really sweet fragrance perfect for all year round.

4. Better Skin by Maybelline - It still looks full I know! It was okay, not the best but done the job. I wont be in a rush to re purchase as I think there are others out there that are overall better.

5. Radox Brazillian fusion - This was a limited edition bubble bath, however I wasn't over struck on the scent of it, I would probably buy it again because as I previously said, I'm not fussy with bubble bath.
6. Batiste Dry Shampoo - I have this in the original scent, and it does the job of making my hair look not greasy, I have already got another one of these.

7. NSPA Shea Butter Bath and Shower Gel - I love this shower gel, this one was my second bottle I believe and would re purchase. Its natural and doesn't test on animals so that's a bonus. I also this it was around £5 so I would re purchase.

8. The Body Shop Shea Butter Foliater - Again, I love the smell of this and it's not too harsh on the skin either. It also leaves a silky film on the body even once its been rinsed off. I would buy it again, but not in a hurry as I found it doesn't last as long as what it says it should before it starts to go off.

9 + 10 - Just two packets of standard face wipes. I'm not that fussy with them, they do the job of taking off most my make up and use them most days even just to freshen up. I would re purchase these again.

YSL - Le Teint Touche Eclat Foundation

So, in recent months I have been trying out the YSL Touche Eclat Illuminating Foundation.
The shade that I have is Beige Rose 10 and the foundation has SPF 19 / PA ++ and you get 30ml or 1 fl.oz and costs £31.50

The packaging of the foundation is to die for! It has the luxury packaging that you would expect a YSL product to have with their statement gold throughout; it looks expensive!

The first thing I noticed about the foundation is that it smells like cucumbers, Its quite strange at first but you do slowly grow to it. In my opinion it makes you feel refreshed!

I apply the foundation with the Real Techniques buffing brush as I feel as though it gives it a better finish than using a beauty blender. The foundation itself is a light to medium coverage, I usually wear 2 layers to try and build it up slightly. It gives the skin an amazing glow and I've found people often commenting on how healthy and radiant I look whilst wearing this!

The only thing about this is that it will cling to dry patches, even if you don't know you have them, you will when you use this. But, having oily skin does mean I need to touch up slightly and powder certain areas throughout the day but overall I do love the foundation and would re purchase. I think its worth the money and it makes you feel confident about your skin whilst having a natural look.

Herbal Essence - Clearly Naked - Moisturising

Since I've stopped dying my hair and using heat products, my shampoo and conditioner were no longer doing it for my hair.

I went into boots in search of a new shampoo and conditioner, I seen that the Herbal Essence Clearly Naked Moisturising were on offer for half price. Ill be honest, that's the only reason why I bought them.

Both shampoo and conditioner have 0% Paraben, 0% Colourant, The shampoo has 0% silicone.

I cant express how much I loved using both of these products. Firstly the smell is amazing, very minty and natural. I did find it was harder to get a good lather with the shampoo but a little goes a long way when it comes to the conditioner. It all rinses out of  the hair really well and it makes my hair feel really soft and moisturised. It also doesn't leave your hair feeling heavy and weighed down.

However the bad side of this is that you cant use it every single wash as it will strip out the hairs natural oils.

Bootea Teatox

So Christmas and New Years have been and gone so its time to detox my body from, well, all the shit Ive drank and eaten. Its basically a herbal tea that you do for 28 days, or 14 days. In the 28 day teatox you will get 28 morning teas and 14 night time teas.

Morning Tea
This is just a standard herbal tea that you drink when you on the morning or when you actually wake up. All you do is add it into a a cup with boiling water for 3 minutes and take it out to drink. This doesn't taste awful, I quite like this tea if I'm honest.

Night Tea
This is also a herbal tea but it also has a slight laxative affect which will be what detoxes the body. You drink this tea every other night starting from day 1. The laxative affect starts to take place around 8 hours after consumption. To do is add it into a cup of boiling water. It does smell a lot worse than the actual taste.

The tea itself comes with an eating plan that you can download, however I didn't opt for this.

Overall the smell of both teas aren't that great but they don't taste as bad as they smell, so don't let it put you off. The tea itself does improve bloating and does make you feel good as a whole. As far as weight loss goes, it does help you lose a little bit of weight but as soon as you stop drinking the tea, you'll put it all back on.

This tea also did give me the worst belly cramps, I actually stopped taking it around 20 days in.

Was it worth the money? I probably wouldn't do it again unless I was feeling shitty due to what I had been eating. In no way would I use this to help kick start a diet etc.

5 Things To Do This Weekend #1

Here's just a short post on what either I'm going to be doing this weekend or what you could do this weekend to make the most out of it!

1 - Clean your make up brushes. I always forget to do this but once I've done it I feel 100x better than what I did. There's something about it that's therapeutic.

2 - Catch up on beauty sleep. This is the perfect time to be able to catch up on some well needed beauty sleep. Getting less than 8 hours sleep can really affect your skin.

3 - Go to Boots & Superdrug. No better thing than going to Boots with my sister on a Saturday and just spending hours looking at make up, testing things and usually buying things.

4 - Pamper. Nothing better than on a weekend taking some time out and just doing you. Pamper yourself and make yourself feel good and refreshed for the upcoming week.

5- Read. That new book you've been meaning to read? Or the one you pick up once in a while and forget about - guilty! Weekends are the perfect time to catch up on some quality reading time.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Hangover Support - 8 Tips To Survive A Hangover

As a 19 year old my wild party days are far from over; in this post I'm giving you tips and tricks I use to help me with a hangover!

Defeat - I know what you did last night wasn't big nor clever and probably slightly shameful, and the next day, you'll be waking up definitely feeling it. When you wake up, admit you have been defeated and waste no time taking painkillers. Its okay, you got this!

Food -  Seriously, you need to eat before bed, but lets be honest there's a good chance you'll of went home with greasy kebab so no worries there. However the next morning, afternoon or whenever you wake up you need to eat, or when your stomach can handle it at least. Feeding the hangover will make the world of difference.

Water -  Whilst munching down on a greasy kebab or pizza or whatever your drunken food choice is grab yourself a pint of water. I know this seems a lot but this will work wonders to re hydrate your body which will also reduce hangover. Take a pint of water to bed with you for when you wake up and keep drinking water throughout the day.

Make up - Ah yes, the biggest pain in the arse when all you want to do is stumble into your bed with a full face of make up on. Get a baby wipe and take the most of it off and you can get the rest the next day. There's nothing better than a semi clean face.

Comfort - Lets be honest, the best way to feel sorry for yourself is by doing it in some comfy PJ's. Wear them all day, unless you need to leave the house then try something like leggings and a jumper.A tip is to not plan anything productive for the morning after.

Skin - You'll need to rehydrate your skin. Remove all of your make up - I know you were proud you taken a baby wipe to the face whilst hardly being able to stand. Take it all off good and proper. Once all has gone find anything hydrating, such as masks, mists and sprays and use them all or one. Eye creams, all off them, your eyes will be puffy and probably dark circles from spending half the night up, help yourself out with eye creams to prevent them.

Pamper - There's nothing better than when you're dying inside than having a pamper day. Run yourself a bath and add in your favourite bath bomb or bubble bath etc and let your body soak. This is also the perfect time to use a face mask to help your now dry skin!

Friends - If you still have your friends by the end of the night, well done firstly! Ask them to stay at your house that way you'll have someone to mope around the house with in PJ's whilst talking about the night before. Not only this you can go halves on a take away.

Hangovers are never fun, but the night before is always worth it.
